Traffic violations are borne by the renter. Driving on sandy beaches is strictly prohibited. An additional charge applies for any return beyond the agreed time. I have read the terms on both pages of this agreement and agree that any dispute shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the lessor’s place of residence or registered office.
GENERAL TERMS
The company RCM, hereinafter referred to as the Lessor, hereby rents to the undersigned, hereinafter referred to as the Renter, the vehicle described in this agreement and on the reverse side. The renter unconditionally accepts the following terms and conditions.
1) VEHICLE RETURN
The renter shall return the vehicle with all its tires and accessories to the lessor’s station in the city where it was rented.
The return shall take place at the agreed time stated in the contract or as otherwise specified on the reverse side, or earlier upon request of the lessor.
If one or more tires are returned damaged beyond normal wear, the renter must pay their value, as they are not covered by insurance.
2) VEHICLE CONDITION & EXTENSION
The renter confirms that the vehicle was received in excellent condition and to their satisfaction.
The renter is responsible for fuel consumption during the rental. After the agreed return date and time, possession of the vehicle becomes illegal and subject to civil and criminal penalties. The renter cannot claim ignorance of these consequences.
If the renter wishes to extend the rental, they must inform the company at least 24 hours before expiry and pay the corresponding rental amount.
Minimum rental duration is one day (24 hours). Each additional hour is charged at 1/5 of the daily rate.
3) PROHIBITED USE
The vehicle must not be used:
a) In any way that invalidates insurance coverage.
b) For illegal transport of goods or for purposes contrary to Greek law.
c) By any person who violates legal age requirements or has provided false details.
d) For transporting persons or goods for compensation.
e) By anyone other than the renter or approved drivers (over 23 years old with at least 1 year driving license and approved by the lessor).
f) For towing or pushing another vehicle.
g) In races, rallies, or related activities.
h) By anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
i) In violation of traffic laws.
Each of the above restrictions applies accordingly.
4) PAYMENT OBLIGATIONS
The renter agrees to pay:
a) The daily rental charges, optional services, insurance upgrades, and any additional charges listed on the reverse side. The vehicle must be returned with full fuel, otherwise charges apply.
b) All fines and legal expenses resulting from traffic or parking violations during the rental period.
c) All collection costs related to this agreement, including reasonable legal fees where permitted by law.
d) All repair costs for damages caused by the renter during the rental period.
5) OPTIONAL FULL INSURANCE
The renter is not responsible for repair costs if they choose to pay the daily fee for full insurance coverage.
6) EXCESS IN CASE OF ACCIDENT
In case of an accident caused by the renter, if covered by full insurance, the renter must pay the first €300.
7) ACCEPTANCE OF INSURANCE
Acceptance of full insurance is valid only if the renter initials the relevant section on the reverse side.
8) INSURANCE COVERAGE
The renter and approved drivers are insured under this agreement.
The insurance covers, under the limitations of section 3:
– Death or bodily injury to third parties (non-passengers) up to (€ ).
– Property damage to third parties up to (€ ).
In case of an accident, the renter must:
a) Record names and addresses of involved persons and witnesses.
b) Not admit liability.
c) Not abandon the vehicle without safety measures.
d) Notify the lessor immediately by phone and then in writing.
e) Inform the police for accident verification and assistance.
9) PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE (P.A.I)
The insurance does not cover the driver or passengers unless the renter selects Personal Accident Insurance (P.A.I) and signs accordingly. Coverage applies as stated in the policy.
10) PERSONAL BELONGINGS
The lessor is not responsible for loss or damage of personal belongings left, stored, or transported in the vehicle during or after the rental.
11) BREAKDOWN & RECOVERY
The lessor takes all reasonable precautions to prevent mechanical failure but is not responsible for damages caused by the renter. Recovery and transport costs are borne by the renter.
12) EXTENSION / REPLACEMENT
All terms remain valid in case of contract extension or vehicle replacement.
13) THIRD PARTY SIGNATURE
Any person signing on behalf of another is fully responsible for all terms and obligations.
14) MODIFICATIONS
Any changes or alterations to these terms are invalid unless agreed in writing.
15) JURISDICTION
Greek courts have jurisdiction over any disputes arising from this agreement.
FINAL DECLARATION
I have read and fully accept the terms of this agreement.
If payment is made by credit card, my signature also applies to the respective credit card authorization.
I acknowledge my responsibility as the holder of the contract for any violations described herein.
CANCELLATION POLICY
In case of cancellation without notifying the lessor at least 48 hours prior to the agreed vehicle delivery time, a charge equivalent to one rental day may apply, based on the agreed rental price of the reserved vehicle.
